Marni Mount is a director, actor, and dramaturg living and working in Naarm (Melbourne).
With a passion for new Australian writing and work that creatively engages with the canon, Marni makes work that is formally inventive, visually imaginative, and unafraid to take on big ideas.
Marni has established a reputation as one of Australia’s most promising emerging theatre directors following the breakout success of her critically acclaimed world premiere of Trophy Boys by Emmanuelle Mattana which she developed and directed, taking the show from a 15-page draft to multiple sellout national tours.
Marni has worked extensively as an independent director and artist in Naarm, and in her hometown of Canberra. Among others, she has worked with Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, Red Stitch Actors Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company, La Mama Theatre, fortyfivedownstairs, Canberra Youth Theatre, Melbourne Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare by the Lakes, and The Street Theatre.

In 2026 Marni will direct the Melbourne premiere of Never Closer by Grace Chapple for Patalog Theatre and fortyfivedownstairs.
